During a speech to business leaders in Qatar on Thursday, Trump stated that the Indian government "has offered us a deal where they are essentially willing not to charge us any tariffs".

Donald Trump did not provide any further details about New Delhi's offer and the Indian government has not commented.

The American president also stated that he has spoken with Apple's CEO Tim Cook and advised him against moving production to India.

I said, I don't want you to build in India, said Donald Trump, referring to a conversation he had with Cook.

Trump claims that the conversation led to Apple increasing its production in the USA.
