President Donald Trump has never made a secret of his craving for Coca-Cola. Now, Trump claims that he has got the soft drink giant to change its mind and use sugar cane instead of corn syrup in the original drink, after criticism from Health Minister Robert F. Kennedy Jr about the health effects of the sweetening.

"I have spoken with Coca-Cola about using real REAL sugar cane in the USA and they have agreed to this", Trump writes on Truth Social.

The company, in turn, has not confirmed the information, but writes in a statement that "several details about new innovative offerings will be presented soon".

Coca-Cola chose in the 80s to switch to corn syrup as a means of making cost savings, but Robert F. Kennedy Jr has questioned corn syrup as an additive and claimed that this has been an explanation for a number of chronic diseases among parts of the American population.
