When asked what he means by mistake, Trump responds: "They made a mistake … you'll have to ask them", without elaborating further.
The National Security Council, NSC, a unit within the White House, earlier on Sunday called the attack "a clear and sharp reminder that President Donald Trump's efforts to try to put an end to this terrible war come at a crucial time".
Neither Trump nor the White House has accused Russia of the attack, but Foreign Minister Marco Rubio has sent condolences to "the victims of today's frightening Russian robot attack on Sumy".
The attack came two days after the US envoy Steve Witkoff met with Russian President Vladimir Putin to try to drive progress in the peace process.
