The American central bank Federal Reserve should lower the interest rate, believes the country's president Donald Trump.
"The Fed would be much better off if they implemented INTEREST RATE CUTS", writes Trump in a post on his platform Truth Social.
The statement comes after Federal Reserve left the interest rate unchanged on Wednesday, citing increased economic uncertainty, among other things due to Trump's tariffs – which are sometimes announced, sometimes withdrawn.
Trump, who has repeatedly attacked both the Fed and its chief Jerome Powell, believes that the president should have influence over interest rate decisions.
