Trump Calls Epstein Documents "Boring" Amid Release Pressure

All "reliable" information from the investigation of Jeffrey Epstein should be made public, says Donald Trump in an attempt to handle criticism from his own ranks against the handling of the documents. It's pretty boring stuff, he says.

Initially, it was said that "client lists" from the Epstein investigation would be made public, then the Department of Justice stated that no such list exists. The sex trade scandal surrounding the now deceased financier and billionaire Jeffrey Epstein continues to cause turbulence in the USA.

From many quarters, even from President Trump's own supporters, demands are being made for the documents to be released. Now, the Republican Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mike Johnson, is urging the Department of Justice to publish the documents, writes The Guardian.

"Credible" information

As recently as over the weekend, Trump urged his supporters not to waste time and energy on the issue, but now the President says that Attorney General Pam Bondi should publish "credible" information from the investigation.

She has handled it very well, and it's up to her. Whatever she considers credible, she should release, he said on Tuesday.

At the same time, he seems to want to downplay the significance of the documents - and questions, according to AFP, why the case is interesting at all.

Only really bad people, including "fake news" media, want to keep something like this going, he says according to BBC.

"Expect more"

Republican Louisiana Senator John Kennedy is one of several Republicans who criticize the President for his handling of the documents. He says that voters expect more.

I think it's completely understandable that the American people want to know who he (Epstein) provided with trafficked women and why they were not prosecuted, he says to NBC News.

Epstein was found dead in his cell in connection with his trial in New York in 2019. The death has been deemed a suicide, but is surrounded by a multitude of conspiracy theories.
