U.S. President Donald Trump is accusing Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey of saying that Minneapolis will not enforce federal immigration laws.

Trump wrote on Truth Social that he had a good conversation with the mayor of Minneapolis earlier this week, but then quoted a statement Frey wrote on X.

"Can someone in his inner circle explain that his statement is a very serious violation of the law, and that he is playing with fire?" Trump wrote.

Mayor Frey wrote on X that, after conversations with the U.S.'s so-called border chief Tom Homan, he had pointed out that efforts against irregular migrants have had serious consequences and that "Minneapolis cannot or will not enforce federal immigration laws," reports The Hill.
