Trump recently harshly criticized Pope Leo XIV after the pope called for an end to the fighting.
Giorgia Meloni said on Monday that it is only "right and normal" that the Pope "wants peace and condemns war in all its forms" and called the president's remarks "unacceptable."
Meloni is the one who is unacceptable, because she doesn't care if Iran gets nuclear weapons and would have blown up Italy in two minutes if they had the chance, Trump said in the interview, according to Politico.
Meloni has been one of Trump's closest European leaders and has been seen as a mediator between Europe and the United States.
