The murdered right-wing profile Charlie Kirk will be posthumously awarded the USA's foremost honor award for civilians. This is announced by President Donald Trump on Thursday.

The award in question, the President's Medal of Freedom, is to be presented at a ceremony to be held on a date yet to be determined.

I can only guarantee one thing: There will be a very large number of participants in place, says Trump during a speech at the defense headquarters Pentagon in Washington, where he is due to the anniversary of the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001.

Trump began the speech by talking about Kirk, who was a close ally and personal friend of the president.
