Bruce Springsteen's harsh criticism of Donald Trump came earlier in the week, when the rock star during a concert in England called the president the leader of a "corrupt, incompetent, and treacherous administration".
He has now received a sour response from Trump.
On Truth social, Trump writes that Springsteen is a "withered katydid to rock singers".
"I see that the heavily overrated Bruce Springsteen goes to a foreign country to speak ill of the USA's president. I have never liked him, never liked his music, or his radical left-wing politics. And most importantly – he is not talented. Just a pushy, unbearable idiot", Trump wrote in a post on Friday.
Springsteen began his European tour this week and used the stage in Manchester to urge the defense of democracy.
Tonight we ask everyone who believes in democracy to raise their voices against authoritarian rule and let freedom ring, he said to the audience, writes entertainment site Deadline.
The rock star has previously given his support to Democrats Kamala Harris in the 2024 election, Joe Biden in 2020, and Hillary Clinton in 2016.
