According to The New York Times, President Donald Trump switched from the new Air Force One plane that Qatar gifted him to an older aircraft when he was flying home from a meeting in Ankara, Turkey, at the beginning of the month.

The change was reportedly due to security flaws, the newspaper reported.

The White House denied the allegations, and the Justice Department demanded that the reporters hand over phone recordings.

The New York Times questioned the government's request, believing that the Trump administration was trying to intimidate the media.

The newspaper reported that federal prosecutors temporarily withdrew the demands at a hearing before a federal judge in New York on Thursday.
