Truls Möregårdh withdraws from Frankfurt World Tour event with shoulder overexertion

Table tennis star Truls Möregårdh is withdrawing from this week’s World Tour competition in Frankfurt because of an overstrained shoulder, SVT reports.

“It is a case of overexertion that prevents him from performing at 100 percent in Germany, and Truls is following his medical team’s recommendation to rest. There is no injury that will keep him out of the game for an extended period,” the association writes to SVT.

World No. 5 Möregårdh played in the semifinals of the WTT competition in Montpellier on Sunday, but lost to Germany’s Patrick Franziska.

The competition in Frankfurt is one of the biggest on the world tour. Möregårdh is replaced by compatriot Kristian Karlsson.
