After the double silver success at the Olympic Games in Paris last summer, Jerringpris winner Truls Möregårdh is in a conflict with the Swedish Table Tennis Association.
It's about, among other things, that he wants his brother Malte Möregårdh as match coach at competitions. The World Championship takes place in Doha, Qatar, May 17-25, but no solution to the conflict has been found yet.
It's still very unclear. We hope to find a solution as soon as possible, so I can participate, says brother Malte Möregårdh to Sydsvenskan.
Jörgen Persson left the national team captain post for the men's team after the Olympic Games and in early March, replacement Tobias Bergman resigned as national team captain for both the men's and women's national teams.
For the time being, Peter Blomqvist is the acting national team captain.
My brother wants me to be able to coach him at competitions. It doesn't necessarily have to be that I'm the national team captain, says Malte Möregårdh.
We think it would have been the optimal way to go. Because I'm Truls' coach at home. So being able to connect the competitions and all the matches to the training hall, is the next step for him to take. It's the missing piece of the puzzle, says the brother further.
