A man in his 30s was seriously injured when the truck he was driving crashed into a ditch on Thursday night.
The accident was reported at 02.07 and occurred on the E4 highway near Njurunda in Sundsvall municipality.
The circumstances of what happened are highly unclear. There was no ice on the spot and the truck drove off the road, tipped over, and landed in the ditch, says Johanna Carlefred, commander at Police Region North.
When the rescue service arrived, life-saving measures were taken, and the man was then transported to the hospital by ambulance.
We have very little information about what happened, but according to reports, the man is seriously injured. The truck he was driving contains hazardous goods, but it does not pose a risk to the public, and there is no leakage, says Johanna Carlefred.
