The 20-year-old Anaheim center has poured in points at the start of the season and is at the top of the NHL's scoring league.
When Tre Kronor played Four Nations in February, the super talent from Karlstad got to play in one match and watch two from the sidelines.
When it's time for the Olympics in Milan in February, it looks like Leo Carlsson will be Tre Kronor's starting center.
Very impressive. What I've seen from him so far is a fantastic player. I got to see him up close in the World Cup and it was a really fun experience to see in games and practices how professional he is and what drive he has, says Filip Forsberg, whose Nashville plays two games in Avicii Arena against Pittsburgh this weekend.
Pittsburgh's star defender Erik Karlsson is also impressed with the 20-year-old, who is in his third season in Anaheim after moving from Örebro.
The world's best Karlsson has the Olympics in mind when he says:
He's one of the young guys who had high expectations of himself and from the outside, it's nice that things are starting to fall into place for him and hopefully he can keep this pace all the way through February anyway.
Leo Carlsson's breakthrough has also meant that the young and talented Anaheim Ducks have gone from the bottom to the top in the NHL. Carlsson has scored 26 points (11 goals + 15 assists) in 16 games so far this season.
