Last season was a complete disaster for Tre Kronor in the Euro Hockey Tour with only four wins in a total of twelve games.
This season the victories are raining in.
Tournament victory after three straight victories at the Finland Hockey Games in November was followed up with the same result in Zurich.
National team captain Sam Hallam has chosen to select more experienced and seasoned teams this season.
We have fielded a strong team in both tournaments, we have not split up and gone with 50 players, now we have had just over 30 and then we come with a very strong team, Hallam tells SVT.
The Czech Republic had the advantage in their quest for tournament victory after two straight three-pointers. Sweden was one point behind when Switzerland were defeated in the first match on penalties before Finland fought back in full time.
Marcus Sörensen's well-aimed shot in the power play gave Tre Kronor the advantage in the first period, where the Czech Republic created several good chances, but Frölunda goalkeeper Lars Johansson made a big play.
In the second period, Tre Kronor dominated greatly, without getting a dividend. It came instead in the third period when everything went into it.
André Petersson, Rickard Hugg, Pär Lindholm (in numerical superiority) and Dennis Rasmussen ensured with their goals that Tre Kronor took a decisive victory.
The next task for Sam Hallam and Tre Kronor will be the Olympics in Milan in February – with a team that is expected to consist only of NHL players.
