The earlier stop between Laxå and Hallsberg occurred at 5:50 after a fire in a technical cabinet. Repairers are still working on correcting the fault.
One track can be used, the other is being worked on, says Felicia Danielsson, press communicator at the Transport Administration.
On the affected stretches Stockholm to Göteborg and Stockholm to Oslo, some subsequent delays remain.
The trains are not expected to be able to run with full capacity on both tracks again until 4 pm on Friday. Until then, the travel time will be affected.
