The police write on their website that the men "have performed some kind of work on the railway area". An investigation has been initiated regarding work environment crimes, manslaughter and gross bodily harm.

Relatives have been informed.

SOS Alarm received the alarm at 15.46 about a train having run over someone at Malmö goods yard in Kirseberg, approximately 3.5 kilometers from Malmö central station. Police, rescue services and ambulance were sent to the scene.

They talked about two people possibly having been run over, said Ola Nilsson at SOS Alarm at 17.10.

The ambulance was still on site.

At 17.30, the police announced that the train involved in the accident began to be evacuated.

Due to the accident, there was a stop in train traffic between Malmö and Lund for many hours. The police technicians worked on site until 20.45, when it was announced that they had cleared the site and the train stop had been lifted.

At around 22.00, train traffic resumed, but the Swedish Transport Administration announces that there will continue to be delays and cancelled trains during the evening and night.
