The accident occurred at 17 o'clock on Monday at an unguarded railway crossing.
– The mobile home drove out into the intersection at the same time as the freight train passed, says Mattias Lindqvist at the Rescue Service Jämtland.
In the mobile home were a man and a woman, who both died in the accident. The train driver was not physically injured.
The police have held hearings with witnesses during the evening.
The man and woman were from Västernorrland and relatives have been notified.
The police will investigate how the accident occurred, but at present there is no suspicion of crime.
How fast the train was going when the collision occurred is unclear.
But it is said to have been a very powerful collision, said Mattias Lindqvist to TT earlier in the evening.
