Operating profit for the April-June period fell 9 percent to 1,060 billion yen, equivalent to about 64 billion Swedish kronor.
It was slightly lower than analysts had expected.
Meanwhile, Toyota raised its full-year forecast by 13 percent, citing strong sales in Japan and the United States. The Japanese automaker now expects operating profit of 3.4 trillion yen for the full year.
Toyota has benefited, among other things, from strong demand for hybrid cars in the United States, Bloomberg writes.
