Toyota raises full-year profit forecast on strong hybrid demand and weak yen

Japanese auto giant Toyota on Thursday raised its full-year profit forecast, citing strong demand for hybrid cars and a weak yen.

For the current fiscal year, which ends on March 31, 2027, the company expects net profit of 3.57 trillion yen, up from its previous forecast of 3.25 trillion yen in August.

However, the forecast still represents a 7.2 percent decline in profit from the previous year.

Correction: An earlier version of the text contained an inaccuracy regarding the strength of the yen.
