The band, which has been named Året Var, will release their first EP "Är du nöjd nu?" on May 8. The debut album "Året var 2026" will be released just before the parliamentary elections in September.
The release date is no coincidence. The album is described as “a political full-length album” at a time “where everything seems to be on edge.”
"This music is born from an acute longing for warmth, community, solidarity and commitment in a society that we feel has become very individualistic and cold," the duo said in a press release.
The music is influenced by, among others, the National Theatre, Broder Daniel and Kjell Höglund. The album features guest appearances by Ulla Skoog and Lotta Lundgren.
