Tove Alexandersson has focused more on trail running during the season, but as recently as June the multiple world champion won the sprint World Championships in orienteering.

Despite that, the Borlänge native will compete in the European Orienteering Championships at the end of September,Radiosporten was the first to report.

But it was far from obvious that it would happen. A stomach ache put an end to a planned trail race a couple of weeks ago, and then there was room in the schedule for the European Championships.

I haven't had time to train much in orienteering, so the European Championships will be a bit more of a step back to orienteering. So I don't expect to be in top shape, she tells Radiosporten.

The European Championships will be held in Druskininkai, Lithuania, from September 24 to 27.
