The coaching change did not have a huge impact on Mjällby. Andreas Brännström was presented on Wednesday as the new head coach of the reigning Swedish champions, and his first match ended in a draw against Häcken.
But Brännström viewed the effort positively.
"We look like a team. We have our flaws, but there was little to stop the bleeding," he says.
Jacob Bergström gave Mjällby the lead in the 17th minute when he headed in Abdullah Iqbal's cross.
But it was not enough for victory. Julius Lindberg earned Häcken a point when he equalised for 1–1 in the second half.
Mjällby is still involved in the relegation battle, two points behind the qualification spot.
