Last winter, David Mobärg won the overall World Cup and he had a chance for a good day in the Austrian Alps. But when he was in second place and was on his way to take a spot in the semifinal, one of his skis suddenly came loose.

His brother Erik Mobärg was eliminated directly in the first eighth-final.

Fredrik Nilsson had a chance to advance but the battle for a quarterfinal spot ended in a nasty crash. The Swede hit the piste hard, lay there for a while before getting up and making his way to the finish area on his own.

Teenager Uma Kruse Een, the only Swedish participant in the women's competition, came last in her quarterfinal.

Canadian India Sherret won the women's competition, Frenchman Youri Duplessis-Kergomard the men's.
