Bergvall's injury is expected to keep him out for two to three months, the channel said. If that assessment holds, it means he will not play in Sweden's World Cup playoff against Ukraine on March 26.
The Swedish midfielder has been injured and substituted twice this month. On Tuesday, he was back on the pitch against Dortmund in the Champions League, but had to come off after an hour of play.
Bergvall is not the only Swedish national team player with injury problems. Sweden's chances in the playoffs have already been threatened by injuries to Alexander Isak, Dejan Kulusevski and goalkeeper Viktor Johansson.
Corrected: A previous version contained incorrect information about Bergvall's recent injuries.
