It held until the 90th minute, when Richarlison was set up by Randal Kolo Muani and scored the equalizer to make it 1–1.
Tottenham remain in sixteenth place, but now have one point more than Nottingham in seventeenth place and West Ham in eighteenth place, in the relegation zone.
Tottenham next face bottom-placed Nottingham in the Premier League. There are eight rounds left in the league.
With the draw, Liverpool move past Chelsea into fifth place in the table.
