Neither Tottenham nor Aston Villa had managed a win in their first four league games, and there were anxious moments early in the Premier League clash.

Tottenham started brightly but struggled to turn their advantage into chances, and instead it was the visitors who struck just before half-time. Johan Manzambi stayed in the penalty area and headed home a low cross.
In the second half, Aston Villa extended their lead to 3–0 before "Spurs" pulled one back twice. It was the team's first goal of the season.
Tottenham is in 18th place in the table. Aston Villa moves up to 15th.
