"Results and performances have led the board to conclude that a change at this point in the season is necessary," the club said in a statement.
The announcement comes after a difficult period for the London club. On Tuesday, Tottenham lost 1-2 at home to Newcastle, a result that leaves the team in 16th place in the Premier League table.
Frank arrived at Tottenham this summer after almost eight years as head coach of league rivals Brentford.
