As recently as last weekend, Tottenham's coach spoke out about the 20-year-old Swede. The Italian said:
Anyone who doesn't want to stay here must leave.
After Wednesday's training match against Sydney FC, a 4-2 victory for Tottenham after penalties when Bergvall played, the question came up again.
And de Zerbi kept a softer tone:
I think he has the potential to be a top player. But I don't want to convince anyone to stay. He can find his place if he stays with us.
However, the Tottenham coach also points out that he cannot guarantee the Swede a role where he starts every match.
