The Cultural Council wants to broaden and deepen the conversation about the conditions for a free cultural life in the event of war, says the director-general Kajsa Ravin to TT.

FOI will work on a report that we will receive after Christmas, which deals with both getting a threat understanding – what are the threats and what is the legal perspective. Which laws create important conditions for artistic freedom, and what does it mean for our government administration?

The work begins during Almedalen, when the Cultural Council holds the seminar "How do we ensure artistic freedom in crisis and war?"

The preparedness issue is central for everyone to think about, so therefore we take our responsibility, says Kajsa Ravin.

The report is expected to be ready by January next year.
