One of the world's best trotting trainers is banned.
The Frenchman Sébastien Guarato, 53, is convicted for one of his horses testing positive for doping, reports Travronden.
In November, his horse Marshall de Celland tested positive for the substance prokain, which is chemically derived from cocaine.
Prokain is an anesthetic that is included in certain medications and is subject to a quarantine period, says Svensk Travsports veterinarian Karl Zötterman to Travronden.
The penalty for the Frenchman is a one-month ban and a fine of approximately 55,000 kronor.
The 53-year-old has trained superstars such as double Prix d'Amerique winners Bold Eagle and Face Time Bourbon.
