According to the Supersport site, McClain, who was in a big lead, will receive the same amount of prize money as the race winner and the other two will share the prize money for second and third place.
"We regret that Jess McClain, Emma Hurley and Ednah Kurgat were impacted and could not be recognized as the top three reflecting their performances on the track," the club and organizer, Atlanta Track Club, said in a statement.
The race was also a qualifier for the World Road Championships in September. The United States Track and Field Federation (USATF) has announced that the selections are still open.
