The military had, among other things, "a brief conversation about operational security issues," wrote the US military command center, Southern Command, on X.
The meeting comes as relations between the countries have become increasingly tense. Earlier in May, the US imposed new sanctions on Cuba. In addition to its long-standing trade embargo against Cuba, the US has also cut off oil supplies to the island.
