Sweden's and Denmark's representatives are ranked at the top when the influential news site Politico Europe grades the outgoing EU Commission.
The Minister for Home Affairs and Asylum Policy, Ylva Johansson, and the Danish Competition Commissioner, Margrethe Vestager, each receive an A-. The same grade is also given to three other commissioners, including the Health Commissioner responsible for pandemics, Stella Kyriakides from Cyprus.
"She had to fight to manage migration, which the governments of the member states keep a close eye on, but stood up strongly to hold them accountable," Politico writes, among other things, about Johansson.
Chairman Ursula von der Leyen receives a B-, while the Hungarian Enlargement Commissioner, Olivér Várhelyi, ends up at the bottom with an F.
The two latter are among the six members of the outgoing Commission who will continue in the new one, which takes office on Sunday.
