A man in Växjö claimed that he, when the police approached his stationary car, "inhaled" as much amphetamine as possible. Now the man is acquitted of a charge of drug-impaired driving, writes Smålandsposten.
The man, who is in his 50s, was stopped in November last year on E4 outside Värnamo. The police suspected that he had driven under the influence of narcotics and found amphetamine, cannabis, and narcotics-classified medications in the car.
The man denied driving under the influence and said that he had panicked when the police stopped him and then took the narcotics.
The District Court believes that the police investigation was unable to refute the man's story that he took the amphetamine when the car was stationary. However, he is convicted of a narcotics offense and sentenced to probation.
