Earlier this week it became clear that last season's top scorer would return to Färjestad after a short stint in the NHL. After a goalless performance against Frölunda, he got revenge in the first home game.
Tomasek scored against Skellefteå to give the home team the lead after six minutes. The 29-year-old also assisted Joakim Nygård's 2–1 goal in the first period, making it 2–1 after the first period.
In the second period, however, Skellefteå turned the game around to lead 4–2, largely thanks to Jonathan Pudas, who had two goals and an assist in the match. In the third period, the away team extended the lead twice to a crushing 6–2 after a goal and an assist from Pär Lindholm.
"We have to get better as a team. If the team gets better, I'll get better too," Tomasek said.
