It became the fifth time right for the American film star Tom Cruise. Previously, he has been Oscar-nominated four times without getting any statuette. But now he is awarded an honorary Oscar by the film academy in Hollywood.
Tom Cruise has two nominations as best male actor for his roles in the films "Born on the Fourth of July" and "Jerry Maguire", one nomination for best supporting role in "Magnolia" and one for best film, "Top Gun: Maverick".
In addition to Tom Cruise, the choreographer Debbie Allen and the production designer Wynn Thomas will also receive their own honorary Oscar.
Additionally, the country star Dolly Parton is awarded the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award for her long charity work in reading and writing skills as well as education.
The prizes are awarded at a gala in Los Angeles in November.
