In the 70s, Todd Rundgren had a problem with Bruce Springsteen being seen as “the salvation of rock music.” Rundgren produced Meat Loaf’s album “Bat out of Hell” and later described it as a satire on Bruce Springsteen.
When asked by Vulture magazine which artist he would like to parody today, his answer is:
Taylor Swift, of course. You could say she has ruined music. To me, Taylor Swift is the epitome of mediocrity.
