Had to leave
Former national security adviser Henrik Landerholm left his service in January this year following revelations about several security incidents.
He is now charged with gross negligence with confidential information since he forgot classified documents at a conference center in March 2023.
Landerholm was employed as Sweden's first national security adviser in 2022. He got into trouble in December when DN revealed that he had caused several security incidents.
Forgot documents
Besides the forgotten documents at the conference center, it was about a forgotten notebook at Swedish Radio in January 2023 and a forgotten mobile phone at the Hungarian Embassy in December 2022.
Landerholm denies any crime. The trial against him was supposed to start in May, but has been delayed. It will begin preliminarily on August 18, according to Altinget.
Tobias Thyberg was until now the head of the unit for Eastern Europe and Central Asia. Before that, he was the head of the unit for UN issues.
2019-2023, Thyberg was Sweden's ambassador in Ukraine and previously ambassador in Afghanistan.
He has worked with the EU's common foreign policy, both from the Ministry for Foreign Affairs and from the EU delegation in Georgia.
Thyberg has also served at the embassies in Washington, Moscow, and New Delhi.
He did his military service through studies in Russian at FRA.
