"A man called in a bomb threat against the bridge and its foundation, which meant we had to shut it down," says Morten Gunneng, duty officer with the police.
The police bomb squad investigated the bridge, and meanwhile the man suspected of making the call was arrested in an apartment in Stenungsund. The case is classified as an unlawful threat against a group.
The call about the bomb threat came in at around 10 p.m.
"The bridge was closed to traffic for more than two hours and was reopened around midnight. It is an important junction," says Morten Gunneng.
