A trial was set to begin on Monday following allegations that TikTok misled parents about tools to protect children from harmful content.
Instead, the parties have reached a settlement that requires the service to introduce restrictions for teenage users, including time limits.
TikTok will also pay $100 million to Alabama and may also pay up to $300 million to other US states.
