TikTok says moderator error delayed removal of Perez Hilton self-harm livestream

A "moderator error" was behind TikTok's delay in shutting down Perez Hilton's live stream while he was injuring himself, writes The Wrap.

On Tuesday, gossip blogger Perez Hilton went live while reportedly cutting himself. The video was flagged by the platform's automated system shortly after it began and sent to a moderation team for review.

But due to a “moderator error,” it took time for the livestream to be removed and Hilton’s account to be suspended, a TikTok spokesperson told CBS News.

Perez Hilton, who rose to fame as a celebrity gossip blogger in the 2000s, was diagnosed with sepsis last spring and claims to have met Jesus. The family confirms on Perez's website that he is being treated in hospital.
