The former police officer Tiara Brown is the new featherweight champion in women's boxing. Brown, 36, won the title match against 29-year-old Skye Nicolson with a small margin. I have been waiting for this moment for over 20 years, says Brown after the victory.

One of the judges gave the points 96–94, in favor of Nicolson. But the two other judges ruled in favor of Brown (97–93, 96–94).

Brown has previously worked as a police officer in Washington DC and in her hometown Fort Myers, Florida, before she committed to boxing full-time.

The 36-year-old American has now gone 19 straight matches without a loss.

But Brown has no thoughts on her next match for the time being.

Right now I just want to go home, eat cupcakes and cookies, and watch cartoons, she says.
