A woman is being prosecuted for poisoning her three-year-old daughter with narcotics, writes Trelleborgs Allehanda.
Earlier this year, a couple took their daughter to the emergency room after finding her unconscious in bed. Traces of the narcotics fentanyl and tramadol were found in the girl's urine.
When the mother was arrested at the hospital, a tablet box with tramadol was also found in her jacket pocket. The girl's parents were arrested, suspected of gross assault, but were later released. The suspicions against the father were later dropped.
After a search of the home, the woman's residence was described as an unsuitable environment for children, as she had stored narcotics there that were accessible to her daughter, for example, in a bedside table along with candy and chips.
The woman is now being prosecuted for causing bodily harm and minor drug offenses.
