Four people were in a boat on the river, also known as Spegeldammen, during the Midsummer weekend last year. Three of them died when the boat was swept away by the rapids – a boy in his early teens, a man in his 30s and one in his 40s.
The accident has been investigated by Vattenfall, which owns the power plant on the river. The internal investigation shows that the company did nothing wrong, Tord Eriksson, production manager at Vattenfall Hydropower in the Nordics, tells SVT Västernorrland.
We followed the existing conditions and there was a steady water flow in the days before the accident, so there were no sudden changes, Eriksson tells SVT.
Corrected: In a previous version, there was an error in the title.
