The incident occurred around 1 a.m. on Friday.
“A passenger car has slid off the road and, reportedly, into some kind of rock wall,” Lars Justelius from the Greater Gothenburg Rescue Service told Göteborgs-Posten.
The police confirmed to the newspaper that the girls are suspected of several crimes in connection with the accident.
“There will be a report of the car theft, as well as reports of causing bodily harm, unlawful driving and negligence in traffic,” said Johan Ljung, an officer on duty with the police.
The girls were taken to hospital but are reported to have non-life-threatening injuries, Göteborgs-Posten reports.
