They are believed to have been involved in a shooting in Oosterhout in March where three men were killed. Two of the arrested, a 28-year-old woman and a 24-year-old man, were arrested in Sweden during the night to Wednesday. The third person, a 28-year-old man, was arrested at the same time in Germany.
They are not unknown to the Swedish police, but at present, there are no ongoing investigations against these individuals for crimes in Sweden, but the suspicion is for crimes in the Netherlands, says Mathias Rutegård at the National Media Center with the police.
The operation was a collaboration between Swedish and German police, says the police's press spokesperson Eric Passchier to Dutch radio. He says that the investigation has been extensive and has been going on for several months.
It was important that both arrests took place at the same time and were successful, he says to Oosterhout Today.
It was on March 28 this year that two people in a car were shot in the municipality of Oosterhout in the southern part of the country. One died on the spot and the other died of his injuries at the hospital, writes the Dutch NU. A third victim was later found a bit further away. He was also in a car and died of his injuries.
