A now 17-year-old boy has admitted shooting the man outside the mosque after Friday prayers on August 15. Another man was shot in connection with the incident. The teenager, who was 16 years old at the time, was sentenced to nine years and ten months in prison for murder and attempted murder.
Two other people, a 23-year-old man and a 26-year-old man, were also convicted of murder after being directly involved in the shooting in various ways. Both received life sentences.
Another man was sentenced to life imprisonment for aiding and abetting murder and for preparing to commit murder in another case. In addition, six others were sentenced for aiding and abetting.
The shooting is linked to a conflict between criminal networks in Örebro.
