After the suspected economic crime scandal in Sundsvall, three politicians are now leaving their board seats in the municipal company that has been at the center.

"I think it is a responsible decision," Niklas Säwén (S), chairman of the municipal board, says in a press release, Sundsvalls Tidning writes.

According to the press release, trust in Sundsvall Logistics Park needs to be strengthened by a new board.

The three politicians who are now leaving the municipal corporation hold mandates for the city's governing political majority.

It was just this week that the Swedish Economic Crime Agency raided Sundsvall's municipal building. The suspicions, which were initially directed at six people, concerned serious fraud and serious accounting fraud linked to two municipal companies.
