On Saturday evening, the police received several calls from witnesses who had seen the men steal a car with a trailer.
On the trailer was a helicopter intended to be used in connection with an air show weekend in Säve.
The men didn't get far before they crashed into some kind of structure in the area, police told the newspaper. According to witnesses, the three men then ran into the woods and police were called to the scene.
The men were arrested by police and are now suspected of attempted aggravated theft, vandalism and theft of a means of transport.
